hugo lobo 1018

On the closing of a successful and productive stage with "Stay Rude" and the recent edition of the single "Ska Is The Way" in Europe, the trumpeter and producer Hugo Lobo opens the way to the release of his third album "Neigborhood Rules", entirely produced and arranged by its creator in Trovador Studio.

With a more traditional sound and vindicating the golden times of the Jamaican ska, this new project - defined as the most important of his solo career - gathers and immortalizes in ten songs the legacy of notable musicians of the genre of all times such as:

Lynval Golding (guitarist and vocalist of the legendary band The Specials),

Ken Boothe (also called "Mr. Rock Steady", who performed in Buenos Aires in 2017 as part of the Ska Unity Argentina festival),

Gaz Mayall (referent who shared the stage with ska legend Laurel Aitken), Kenrick Rowe (drummer of the beloved Rico Rodriguez and artists like Barrington Levy and Dennis Brown.) He is currently part of Aswad),

Carrol Thompson (considered the best female reggae performer who worked with artists like Sugar Minott, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder),

Val Douglas (bass player of reggae icons like Marcia Griffiths, Toots & The Maytals, Bob Marley $ The Wailers and The Skatalites),

Hepcat (who on this record make their first recording since their return as a band), the Jamaican Publik Report, and the current guitarist of the Skatalites, Natty Frenchy.

In the framework of his tour in London during 2017, Hugo Lobo managed to gather most of the ska players in England, where he began recording some of the voices that are presented on this album.

In addition to the first level winds, the multi-instrumentalist Lobo was also in charge of the batteries, keyboards and mixes of most tracks.
