EAT THE EVIDENCE
In 2013 Eat the Evidence picked up their accordion and stumbled into the UK's Ska punk and festival scenes.
They have been the punkest band on a reggae bill, or the reggae'est band on a punk night. Both somehow work as they fuse catchy riffs, party beats and brash and comical lyrics.
Before teaming up. previous ventures have included playing with likes of Madness, Adam Ant, Frank Sidebottom, Jehst and Rizz MC. With influences from Sublime to the streets to they have come together with an aim to throw their own slant on a nostalgic sound they grew on on.
The band pride themselves in directing their own music videos and 2015 saw them release their short film 'Delusions of Grunger'.
Last year also saw them support Billy Bragg, Get Cape, Wear Cape , Fly and Chas-Palmer Williams (Lightyear). They squeezed in cheeky tours of Denmark and the UK too
The highlight of 2016 will definitely be bring our party to Boomtown for the first time.
Eat the Evidence - The best thing since free Wi-Fi

"Charismatic, charming and energetic they can wrap a packed room of people round their fingers all whilst firing off lyrics which swing from politically volatile to toilet humour at breakneck speeds whilst swinging from the rafters with accordion in tow. And they never miss a beat in between"

"Dearly beloved,

We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life. Electric word life, it means forever and that's a mighty long time. But I'm here to tell you there's something else...

This Friday dirty your mind, cry like a dove, don a raspberry beret and get off at the Mascara Bar from 9pm until late as we deliver the most monster hits and freakiest funk jams from His Royal Badness.

You can also expect to hear music from some of Prince's influences, contemporaries and proteges, including: Little Richard, James Brown, Rick James, Cameo, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, The Bangles and many, many more.

The night is a bringer to give everyone the chance of a better audience.

WE’VE GOT TO STOP MEETING LIKE THIS (2016) Ivan Luke

Rex meets up with his friend Roy and makes a startling confession concerning his diary – If, by the end of the year, it contains more bad days than good he will kill himself. Or move to Estonia. Whilst debating the merits of this idea, they have an uneasy encounter with a fed-up barmaid and her jealous boyfriend.

WAR (2015) Nilesh Bell Gorsia
https://www.facebook.com/WarShortFilm

Two rival gangs clash on a council estate, but no one could have predicted the outcome...

War is a progressive film that proudly celebrates a multi-cultural Britain and explores what it means to grow up in inner-city London. Written and directed by MTV Anti-Knife Crime Award Winner Nilesh Bell-Gorsia and produced by award-winning filmmaker Andrew Oldbury. The film was commissioned by Ideastap and the Northern Film School as part of the Ideas Fund Shorts Scheme.

STEVIE G (2015) Umut Gunduz
https://www.facebook.com/steviegdocumentary/

Umut Gunduz’s portrait of his brother is an intimate attempt at reconnection. After years of estrangement from Stevie, Umut begins sifting through home videos in order to learn about a sibling he never knew while growing up. A complex character emerges, driven by bad choices and trauma into a life of crime, yet also charismatic and fascinating.

Produced in partnership with YouTube and NFTS, this is a moving tale of familial bonds, and a magnetic central figure trying to get back on the right path.

What is Kill Your Television about?

Stop complaining about gentrification. Start sharing your precious work with your plain neighbour. Meet new imaginations and create new worlds together.

Kill Your Television is a monthly short film night for the people of North East London, which aims to showcase work by filmmakers of the area. We are interested in all forms: fiction and experimental films, documentaries, animation, music videos, and those we have not yet heard of.

Our mission is to help build a community of filmmakers and other creatives from North East London around regular events. Meet your creative neighbours, talk to them, learn from them, create something together!

At the same time, we think that it is a moral duty of all artists to share their work with the community they live in. This benefits the community as much as the artists. We hope to act as an agent in making this interaction possible.
